Equipment drops with rarity tiers, can be upgraded at the Forge, can receive affixes from crystals, and can be salvaged into crafting materials.

Rarity tiers
Equipment can drop with a rarity tier. Higher tiers grant extra stats and are far more valuable. Typical tiers range from common up to legendary.

Crafting & upgrading
Collect materials from hunting and use the in-game crafting interface to upgrade your gear. Failed upgrades may consume materials, so gather plenty before you start.
Salvaging
Break down unwanted equipment into crafting materials instead of selling it. Salvaging is a great way to turn trash loot into useful resources.
